Singapore Airlines to pilot the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Travel Pass mobile application
Singapore Airlines will pilot the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Pass mobile application on selected flights from Singapore to London from 15 – 28 March 2021. The app allows travellers to securely store their Covid-19 test results, and for airport check-in staff to verify that the travel requirements are met. Travellers can then easily and securely manage their travel in line with government requirements for COVID-19 tests or vaccines. News Source: Singapore Airlines
Malaysia Airlines to introduce digital travel health pass, reopening travel to the world
Malaysia Airlines is excited to announce its plan to introduce the Digital Travel Health Pass, yet another milestone the airline is taking on its path to empower passengers to travel around the world once again with confidence and ease. The Digital Travel Health Pass, which will be integrated with the Malaysia Airlines mobile app, will kickstart and streamline a passenger’s travel journey, with simple easy-to-follow steps before they start on their travel. Air New Zealand trials global digital travel pass
Air New Zealand will trial the digital Travel Pass app developed by International Air Transport Association (IATA) on its Auckland-Sydney route in April. Customers will be able to create a digital health wallet linked to their e-passport. Once travellers have been tested and/or vaccinated, labs will securely send data to the individual’s app. It then checks requirements for travel against the data and customers who meet those travel requirements will be given the green tick to travel. Lufthansa Group launches integration of Covid-19 test certificates into digital travel chain
Prior to Lufthansa flights from Frankfurt to Istanbul, Turkey and from Newark, USA to Frankfurt and Munich, customers have the option of sending their Covid-19 test certificates and confirmations of digital entry applications to a specially set-up Lufthansa Group Health Entry Support Center via a contact form as early as 72 hours before departure starting Friday. SWISS customers will be able to use this service on the Newark, USA to Zurich, Switzerland route during March. News Source: Lufthansa
