Policy statement
Corporate Travel Management Limited (‘CTM’) uses cookies on its websites and web-based travel platforms and apps (‘site(s)’) that are more than strictly necessary, however only where you (‘you’ or ‘the user’) have consented to the placing of these cookies on your computer or other digital device. These cookies and tags collect data about your use of the site, including how you arrive at the site, which pages you click on, where you scroll on the page, the country from which you are accessing the site, which site you go to when you leave the site, and your activity on other third-party websites. If you register to use our sites, or subscribe to our communications, this information is linked to your registration profile and any offline information we have about you (please refer to our Privacy Policy here). If you do not register for our site, this information is linked to a unique cookie ID number which is provided to you when you visit our site or to your IP address.
For more information on the cookies we use and what information is collected, together with information on how to accept, delete or block cookies, please read our Cookie Policy below.
Why we use cookies
Cookies are small text files which websites, apps, and sometimes emails, place on your device. They provide useful information to companies which helps in all sorts of ways. For you, it means you can use our site(s) more efficiently and save time by not having to re-enter your details each time you visit. For CTM, cookies help us to analyse how our customers and users interact with our site(s) so we can make improvements.
Where we use cookies
This Policy covers the public and customer-facing site(s) offered by CTM, including CTM’s public websites and travel management tools including (but not limited to) CTM Portal, Lightning, CTM Approve, and the CTM Mobile app. The Policy only applies to those services that link to this Policy or tell you it applies.
The types of cookies we use
We use three types of cookies on our site(s):
- Session cookies that are deleted after each visit. They do not store any personal information and are deleted when you close your web browser.
- Permanent cookies that remain on your device after you have closed your browser. These cookies allow us to recognise you and remember your preferences next time you visit our site(s).
- Third-party cookies that are used by our approved business partners.
Certain cookies are necessary for you to use our site(s). Other cookies are not essential but do help to improve your experience while using our site(s). You can delete the cookies from your browser at any time if you want to (see below for more information on how to do this), but this will restrict the functions that you’re able to carry out on our site(s).
Our cookies fall into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies: These are cookies that are needed for our site(s) to work properly. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log in to secure areas of our site(s). These will usually be session cookies (see above).
- Analytical / performance cookies: These cookies allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors to our site(s), and to see how visitors move around our site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our site(s) works (for example, by making sure that users can easily find what they are looking for). We use cookies to produce visitor statistics which enable us to continually improve our site(s), such as:
- how many people have visited our site;
- how visitors reached our site;
- what type of technology visitors are using (for example, Mac or Windows) which helps us to identify when our site isn’t working as it should for particular technologies;
- how long visitors spend on our site;
- what pages visitors look at, and so on.
- Functionality cookies: These are used to recognise you when you return to our site(s). This means that you do not need to log in each time you visit our site(s).
- Targeting cookies: These cookies record your visit to our site, the pages you have visited, and the links you have followed. CTM and third parties use this information to make our website, the content, and the advertising on it more relevant to you. Advertisements displayed on our website may be provided through an advertising-management company. When you view a web page that contains advertising provided by an advertising-management company, that company may place a cookie on, or collect a cookie from, your device (if you have enabled cookies). Please note that third parties may also use cookies, which we have no control over. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.
How you can block cookies
You can block cookies from any website through your browser settings. If you share a computer with other users, accepting or rejecting the use of cookies will affect all users. The Help function in your browser should tell you how to do this. For more information about how to change your browser settings, go to www.aboutcookies.org. However, doing so is likely to limit the functions of our site(s). For information on how to do this on your mobile phone browser, please see the manual for your phone.
The cookies we use
CTM’s products use a minimal and essential set of functional cookies which are distinct from those used on CTM’s websites, to enhance user experience and collect user feedback. For detailed information on cookie types and settings specific to CTM’s products, or to update your cookie preferences, please visit the CTM Portal.
Cookies found on a third-party website or portal accessed by CTM customers through CTM’s services are governed by the third-party’s own cookie policies and consent management platforms. For more information, please refer directly to the respective third-party website.
